so, you decide to act. you take flight with no particular destination in mind. it is frightening and it feels right. you hope to figure it out along the way.

What is this?

Directionless is a solo journaling game. You are a bird who has been feeling a little lost overwhelmed with life. You start the game by taking flight. You will track your journey on a grid map and record your thoughts and feelings along the way. You may end up finding what you were looking for. Or you may remain directionless.

This can be printed in an accordion zine format. The actions on the back of the zine can be spread out to show which are available. As you use actions, these pages will be folded in so they are no longer available. When you only have one action left, "spread your wings" and open up the zine so all actions are available again. 

What do I need to play?

In addition to the game rules, you need a four-sided die, paper, and something to write with. The entire game can take an 1-2 hours, more or less,  depending on how much you decide to write in your journal entries.

How to Print and Assemble?

This game can be printed on 3 sheets of paper (both sides for each sheet), folded, cut, and glued into  an 18-page accordion zine. In the downloads, there are instructions included for how to print and assemble the game. You need paper, a printer, something to cut paper with, glue, and a bone folder if you have one.
